Bug Bite?

Regular flavored toothpaste, when applied to an insect bite (especially fire ant bites) will immediately relieve itching.

Or

Make an "X" with your fingernail on the bite. It helps alleviate the need to itch.

Poison Ivy

Witch hazel applied to the affected area soothes the itching.

Instant tea helps dry the poison ivy. Add one 8-oz. Jar of the tea to warm bath water and soak for 15 minutes. The tannic acid soothes and dries the poison ivy.

Bee Sting

Place a penny on the sting and hold it on for at least 5 minutes. It will relieve the pain.

Splinters

Place a fresh onion or tomato on a deeply embedded splinter. Leave it on for 10 minutes. You may have to repeat, however, it should help draw the splinter to the skin surface so you can use tweezers to pull it out.

Another remedy involves glue. Pour a drop of glue over the splinter, let dry, and then peel the dried glue off the skin. The splinter sticks to the dried glue.
